Acoustic Driver
The ES-HE90 uses high strength glass as the electrostatic
driver electrodes. Glass offers exceptional dimensional
stability and minimal warping, with virtually no deformation
during processing. Glass's physical properties make it an
ideal material for making electrostatic driver electrodes.
The fabrication process employs high precision laser cutting
combined with chemical etching. Around five thousand
hexagon holes are formed on the glass with micron-level
accuracy, and without compromising the overall structural
integrity of the substrate by micro-cracks.
For conduction, a chromium layer is deposited by sputtering,
followed by a pure gold coating. This combination provides
high conductivity and excellent oxidation resistance,
ensuring long-term electrode stability
Diaphragm
The diaphragm is made with ultra-thin engineering plastic
which is only 1-micron thick, resulting in greater detail
transparency and a more natural soundstage. Its elliptical
shape, compared to traditional circular designs, more
effectively reduces standing waves.
Assembly
Driver assembly is carried out entirely in a cleanroom
environment. After going through multiple thorough
cleanings procedures, technician inspects every one of the
holes on each of the four electrodes to eliminate particle
contamination. This highly demanding process guarantees
that each driver meets the highest standards.
Housing
The housing is crafted from bubinga wood sourced from
Africa. After extensive testing of various wood types, we
selected the material with the most complementary resonant
characteristics. It then undergoes multiple stages of sanding,
finishing, coating and polishing, allowing the headphone itself
to become not only an integral part of the music, but an art
piece itself.
Earpads
The ear pads use selected imported polyurethane foam,
precisely balanced in density, hardness, and breathability. All
ear pads are hand-assembled in our own workshop to ensure
consistent quality.
Through different ear pad combinations, users can choose
between a tuning that closely recreates the original classic
sound signature or one optimized for modern recordings,
offering flexible options to suit personal listening
preferences.
Wearability
The ES-HE90 (excluding cable) weighs only 370 grams,
making it comfortable for extended listening sessions. Its
fully modular design allows the ear pads, headband, and
cable to be quickly and easily assembled or replaced by hand,
combining practicality with user-friendly customization.
