Shanling has unveiled its latest innovation, the SCD3.3 top-loading SACD player, seamlessly blending classic disc playback with cutting-edge digital technology. This model utilizes a patented top-loading mechanism and an advanced R2R DAC, featuring 212 precision resistors that ensure high fidelity and minimal digital jitter. Its analog signal outputs are enhanced through a dedicated tube stage, providing a warm and rich sound profile. Bluetooth connectivity, coupled with a user-friendly interface, complements its advanced playback capabilities. The SCD3.3's unique drive mechanism, based on the HD850 laser system, promises exceptional stability when playing CDs, SACDs, and MQA-CDs while maintaining a noiseless operation to further reduce jitter. By incorporating a manual top-loading design, Shanling embraces a high-end philosophy prioritizing mechanical simplicity and exceptional precision, delivering a durable platform for optical discs. The core of the SCD3.3's audio performance lies in its discrete R2R DA converter, engineered for natural signal reproduction devoid of conventional filtering artifacts, thus enhancing the listening experience, especially with high-resolution media. Additionally, an advanced clock architecture featuring independent oscillators enables precise signal processing, significantly lowering jitter and refining sound quality across various formats.
The SCD3.3 also integrates high-performance tubes in the output stage along with two tailored operational amplifier stages, ensuring a seamless transition from digital to analog signals, all while maintaining clarity and warmth. Beyond disc playback, this player serves as a comprehensive digital audio hub, accommodating formats up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD512 via its XMOS USB receiver. Its connectivity options include USB-A, USB-B, and a coaxial S/PDIF interface, allowing for versatile input sources. For wireless streaming, Bluetooth 5.0 support adds convenience, making it easy to connect with smartphones and tablets.
Meanwhile, an HDMI port provides an I2S output for users with high-end digital audio setups. The intuitive 5-inch LG touchscreen on the front panel facilitates easy control, supplemented by physical buttons and remote access through an app available on both iOS and Android. Crafted entirely from aluminum, the SCD3.3 boasts a robust and resonant-free construction, weighing approximately ten kilograms, which contributes to the stability and longevity of its internal components.
