Flame maple wood for clear sound The ATH-WP900 housings are constructed entirely from wood, fusing flame grain maple on top of machined solid natural maple. The headphones offer ideal response and accurate sound thanks to the maple wood’s dense and stiff characteristics.
Japanese craftsmanship From design to manufacturing, the ATH-WP900 is made at the Audio-Technica factory in Naruse, Tokyo, where we have been developing and manufacturing our wooden series of headphones for many years. The finish for the flame maple housings is provided by Japanese guitar manufacturer Fujigen. Their craftsmanship brings out the unique grain of each housing, making every pair these headphones a one-of-a-kind product, with a beauty that will deepen with age.
Hi-fi portable sound The ATH-WP900 features an exclusive 53mm large diameter driver, designed with a DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating, to deliver exceptional full-range audio. The top-mounted PCB construction helps regulate airflow to enable precise diaphragm movement. In addition, the high-power magnet ensures superlative low-range audio reproduction.
Newly designed angled baffle The baffle has been designed at an angle to improve airflow between the front and rear of the diaphragm for better low- to mid-range audio reproduction. The baffle angle also improves the seal of the earcup.
